Public Lecture: An Exercise in Critical Thinking

We invite you to join us for the next DAN Public Lecture Series event. DAN Medic Lana Sorrell will present "An Exercise in Critical Thinking: A Look at Case Studies and Emergency Preparedness Through the Eyes of Dive Pros" at DAN headquarters in Durham, North Carolina, on Wednesday, December 4, at 7 p.m.

An Exercise in Critical Thinking: A Look at Case Studies and Emergency Preparedness Through the Eyes of Dive Pros

Dive leaders are the first point of contact during an emergency and are expected to multitask managing the emergency, keeping other divers safe, and communicating with resources all while keeping a calm head. Complacency can make a bad situation worse. It's important to continue learning so if you find yourself in the middle of a bad situation you are prepared to critically analyze the available information and successfully implement your EAP. This interactive presentation will introduce real-life scenarios and help you think outside the box about many of the challenges you face, both dive related and not, and how best to manage them. Come prepared to participate!

Doors will open at 6:15 p.m. for a pre-event social with refreshments. The 45-minute presentation will begin at 7 p.m. and be followed by a 30-minute question-and-answer session. This event is free, and no registration is required.

We hope you will be able to join us. For more information, please email research@dan.org or call +1 (919) 684-2948, ext. 1260.
