Danny DoneganDAN Ambassador, DES Examiner
and Tech Diving IT >Danny Donegan became a Dive Instructor to start the new millennium upon leaving active duty in the Army. Currently Danny is your DAN Ambassador in the field and represents the agency and the President (Dan Orr) directly to the membership. A DAN DES Examiner, ASHI Master Instructor Trainer, MEDIC Master Instructor Trainer, SDI Instructor Trainer, TDI Tech Instructor Trainer, IANTD Normoxic Trimix Instructor Trainer, and Handicapped Scuba Association Instructor. Danny is also a National Registry EMT-B and certified to teach all of the DAN course offerings. In the diving world he has over 300 active Instructor Trainer level and specialty credentials.
>Education has always been a priority. Danny has earned: a Master of Accounting and Financial Management, from Keller Graduate School of Management; a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accountancy with a secondary concentration in Economics from Georgia State University; an Associate of Science in Business from DeKalb College; and an Associate of Arts in Military Science from Kemper Military College.
>While in the military he was assigned to an Army Long Range Surveillance Unit followed by a Counter-Intelligence company and received training in military topics including: Airborne Parachutist, Aviation Survival, Civil Disturbance, Defense Haz-Mat Handling, Dragon Gunnery, Emergency Program Manager, Human Factors Engineering, Light Infantry, Manager Development, Peace Keeping Operations, Operations and Intelligence, Physical Security, all of the United Nations Security and Research curriculum, and Satellite Encrypted Radio Communications Systems Instructor.
>Danny has taught classes and supervised dives in the Bahamas, Costa Rica, Grand Cayman, the Republic of Kiribati, Mexico, Spain, and extensively throughout the United States. His motto is, “Have dive gear, will travel.” If you are looking to put together a class anywhere in the DAN Americas territory, to include the United States and Central America, he’ll be available to you. As a DAN Examiner, and an Ambassador for the dive safety cause, he likes to stress that: “It’s not just about the material and the class – it’s about the knowledge you take away from it.”
