DAN Research developed the Diving Data System to make field data collection possible. The system consists of a manual, three data collection forms, and the Data Acquisition Software (DAS).

Download the PDE Manual

The PDE Manual is the official text used by DAN Research to teach individuals how to collect data in the field. It covers the goals of Project Dive Exploration, the three-step process for collecting data, the installation and use of the Data Acquisition Software, and exporting routines for getting your data to DAN for analysis.

The data collection forms support the entry of the same data on the DAS. Data can be directly entered in DAS or forms can be used in the field and data entry to DAS can be done later.

The advances in dive computer software, and especially the implementation of DL7 data format, has enhanced some changes in the DASIND, aimed to simplify data collection.

Currently, there are two versions of the DAS available:

• DAS for Windows 9x/NT/2000 (ZIP: 14.8 MB)
• DAS for Windows XP (ZIP: 14.9 MB)

In order to use this software, you need an FRC code. To obtain one, download and complete the FRC Registration Form (PDF: 308 KB) and return to DAN.
