DAN Medical Research
Internship Program

DAN is committed to training and mentoring the research interns to give them an experience in diving medical research and data collection that will help guide their future careers.

Interns receive training in diving physiology and research methodology at DAN Headquarters, where they will also have the opportunity to meet people who are actively conducting diving safety research. With this training and their interactions with the diving public through DAN research projects, they will be able to communicate the importance of diving research for improving the safety of recreational diving.

The primary run of the internship program is mid-May through August. Training is conducted at DAN Headquarters before interns are deployed to their assignments, whether in the field or at DAN. Interns are students recruited from colleges, universities and medical schools. Interns may also be recent graduates (within the past year) or accepted for further academic studies.
