 Divers Alert Network® recently announced the promotion of Peter Winkler, MBA, to director of business development and strategy at DAN®.
Winkler will spearhead the development and implementation of new strategies, partnerships, products and services to further support DAN’s Mission and increase brand awareness and growth. He will also oversee information management and integrated communications at DAN.
Panchabi Vaithiyanathan, Ph.D., vice president and CIO at DAN, said Winkler is ideal for this new position. “Given Peter’s 12-year stint at DAN in a variety of roles and as a diver, he has a unique vantage point and perspective to help move DAN forward,” Vaithiyanathan said. “He is definitely a good fit for this new position.”
At DAN, Winkler has worked as webmaster and business applications manager, increasing online sales and member participation in transactions; he also managed the DAN Trip Insurance Program. Most recently, he helped DAN to forge alliances with the top training agencies in the dive industry, enhancing DAN’s membership growth and brand awareness.
Winkler said he was enthusiastic about his new position. “It allows me to combine my passion for diving with my strategic management and marketing experience," Winkler said. “I look forward to helping DAN expand its membership base, bring innovative products and services to the diving community and other related markets, and expand DAN's position as the leader in dive safety.”
