Divers Alert Network® and the Undersea and Hyperbaric Medical Society will jointly sponsor DAN’s 65th Diving and Hyperbaric Medicine Course from April 25–May 2, 2009, in Turks and Caicos.
Beaches Resort and Spa on Providenciales, Turks and Caicos, BWI, will host the six-day course; it is designed primarily for physicians, emergency medical personnel, paramedics and nurses, but instructors, divemasters and other nonmedical dive-related personnel may also find the course valuable.
Participants will learn the facts relevant to understanding the management of diving accidents, especially those bearing on basic physics and physiology, and the subsequent treatment methods available. This will also provide an opportunity for DAN Referral Physicians and Preferred Provider Network physicians to update their knowledge and skills in medical management aspects. The course will provide a opportune forum for discussion of dive-related medical management problems.
Enrollment is $650 per person for DAN–Beaches Resort guest packages sent with a registration form before March 1, 2009. After that date, the course fee increases to $750 per person. Packages include course materials, continuing medical education credit, special shirt and two special receptions. The course fee is $800 per person for those not participating in the DAN–Beaches Resort package.
