 DAN Members all over have joined in to support DAN® with their participation in the PDE Extravaganza, which just ended for this year.
The program ran May 26–Sept.1, 2008, and all eligible dives must be submitted no later than Sept. 30, 2008. The winner will be announced Oct. 31.
The beauty of the PDE Extravaganza is that you don’t have to do anything more than you already do. You’ll be spending quality time underwater this summer, so why not contribute your dive profiles to DAN Research? The PDE Extravaganza is the second celebration of Project Dive Exploration, the dive data collection program that is the most extensive (and ongoing) study of recreational diving ever conducted.
The program ran May 26–Sept.1, 2008, and participation in PDE is simple. Learn more about this exciting event, and start taking steps to participate in next year's collections.
All divers who submit 10 or more dives completed between Memorial Day and Labor Day 2008 will receive a specially designed T-shirt at the end of the challenge. In addition, the diver will automatically receive one entry into a drawing for a DAN gift certificate worth $250*. You can earn another entry for every five additional dives submitted. There’s no limit to the number of times you can be entered.
“We had high hopes for the number of dive profiles we might receive during last year’s Extravaganza,” says Donna Uguccioni, Research Coordinator for DAN. “But the response we received in 2007 was simply overwhelming. Dive profiles were submitted in droves by every kind of diver from all over the world. It exceeded every hope and expectation we had for the Extravaganza, and we can’t wait to see what 2008 will bring.”
