 It had been 20 years since the last gathering of breath-hold experts, so Divers Alert Network and the Undersea and Hyperbaric Medical Society joined forces in 2006 to bring together the movers and shakers in breath-hold diving.
The gathering included scientists as well as practitioners of the sport. The result was a two-day workshop about the physiology, performance and health and safety of breath-hold diving.
