 Amos Nachoum, a DAN Member and contributing photographer to Alert Diver magazine, won first place for his portfolio of images in the Underwater Photography category of the international Lucie Award (the Oscar of still photography) competition. The Lucies were announced in New York on Oct. 18.
"I owe this honor to people like you who have given me support and encouragement and provided opportunities for me to spend time in the wild," Nachoum said in accepting the award. "You have helped me to live my dream. Hopefully, through my images, expeditions, teaching, I have become an 'ambassador' of good will and protection for BigAnimals for future generations to enjoy."
