The Coral Reef Alliance (CORAL), an international non-profit organization dedicated to preserving coral reefs through research and education, has teamed with Earthwise Media to produce a new DVD called "Rainbows in the Sea." The educational production (ages 12 to adult) takes viewers underwater around the world to learn how coral reefs work. A closing
segment examines the perils faced by reefs today, mostly from human impact, and documents the efforts of groups like CORAL, REEF, and the Nature Conservancy to reverse this trend.
Earthwise Media's principles are Nancy Sefton, a NOGI Award winner for her reef conservation efforts, and Dr. Wesley Nicholson, recently named REEF's
2003 Volunteer of the Year. Both Sefton and Nicholson have spent several years creating nature videos, working to preserve ecosystems, and
lecturing. Earthwise Media specializes in creating media tools for environmental non-profits.
"Rainbows in the Sea," a 25-minute film on VHS or DVD, will be released by CORAL early in 2005. For more information, contact wes@earthwisevideos.com.
