 Divers Alert Network announces that Cary O'Brien joined the organization as a new Field Sales and Services Representative effective Sept. 6.
As a DAN "Road Warrior," O'Brien will be responsible for attending dive shows, including the DEMA Show 2004 in Houston Oct. 13-16 at the DAN Booth #3927, and visiting DAN Business Members and other dive stores, dive resorts and clubs. He also will help manage DAN advertising and promotional efforts throughout the USA, Canada and the Caribbean.
"We are proud to have Cary as the latest member of the DAN Marketing team," said Tony Bacci, Vice President, DAN Marketing. "He will be instrumental in promoting how DAN is making scuba diving safer for everyone through education, training and research, and how instrumental dive retailers and professionals are in helping us get our message out. His years of experience within the industry are a definite asset to us as well."
A part owner, instructor and salesman at Midwest Aquatics Swim and Scuba Center in Overland Park, Kansas, from 1994-1998 and the last two years prior to joining DAN, O'Brien has been involved professionally in the recreational diving industry for more than a decade. His other jobs have included being an instructor and salesman at Oceanic Ventures, Inc. of Houston from 1998-2002 and captain of scuba and sailing charters to the Texas Flower Gardens, the U.S. and British Virgin Islands and St. Lucia from 1999-2003.
O'Brien has approximately 100 boating and scuba diving professional certifications, including most of the major ones from DAN, PADI, SSI, TDI and IANTD. He has certified more than 200 divers from open water to assistant instructor, and he has logged more than 3,000 dives.
