Nikon Inc. is voluntarily recalling its Nikonos Speedlight SB-103 amphibious high performance electronic flash unit body. Gas buildup within the Nikonos Speedlight SB-103 unit could result in the front lens and flash tube unit, along with the rubberized ring holding them in place, projecting off the front of the Speedlight. While there has only been one report of an incident in the United States, Nikon Inc. has initiated this recall as a reflection of its commitment to your safety.
If you have a Nikonos Speedlight SB-103, you should immediately stop using it.
We will be replacing the Nikonos Speedlight SB-103 body with the improved Nikonos Speedlight SB-105 body*. To receive instructions for the return and replacement of your Nikonos Speedlight SB-103 body, please do one of the following:

Please also call us at the toll-free number above to advise us if you no longer own the Nikonos Speedlight SB-103 or have given it to another person, and if so, that person's name, address, and telephone number so that we may provide them with the information in this notice.
* Nikonos Speedlight SB-105 replacements will be shipped as quickly as possible as supplies are available.
