Annual Fundraising Auction Launches Nov. 2
DAN’s annual online auction is set to launch in just a few days, though it will be a little different in 2009 than in past years. In addition to great items such as dive trips, this year’s auction features discontinued items as well as specialty items, including several embossed suede jackets. The DAN Wipe-Out Auction runs Nov. 2-13, 2009.
The auction serves as a fundraiser for DAN; the proceeds help support the organization’s non-profit efforts, including the DAN Emergency Hotline, the Medical Information Line and DAN research projects.
“DAN donors have always been very generous, and our auction donors are no different,” said Michele Harrison, DAN development department manager. “We thought about canceling the auction this year, since we know the economy has affected so many of our donors’ businesses, but they wouldn’t let us do it. They came through even when we didn’t ask them for anything.”
